Type 2 Diabetes

What are the Signs?

People with type 2 diabetes may develop symptoms more slowly, or show no symptoms at all.

Symptoms for type 2 diabetes can be similar to type 1 diabetes. However some people may not have any symptoms at all, or the signs may go unnoticed.

Symptoms for type 2 can include:

  • Increased thirst
  • Urinating more frequently
  • Feeling tired and lethargic
  • Having cuts that heal slowly
  • Gradually putting on weight
  • Blurred vision
  • Headaches
  • Leg cramps
  • Feeling dizzy
  • Skin infections
  • Always feeling hungry

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms talk to your doctor. A blood test can tell if you have diabetes or not. The earlier diabetes is diagnosed and managed the better your health will be.
