Volunteers are the lifeblood of our fight against diabetes.

Diabetes SA has always valued the significant contribution of those who chose to volunteer their time to improve the quality of lives of people living with diabetes.

Our Volunteer Program aims to benefit both volunteers and Diabetes SA by matching and enhancing the individual skills, experience and interests of volunteers with the needs of Diabetes SA and our members.

As a volunteer, you may be offered roles and tasks in a number of areas within our organisation which will be in keeping with your individual skills and experience.

As a volunteer for Diabetes SA, my experience has been incredibly fulfilling, rewarding, and enjoyable. For the past four years, I have dedicated a few hours twice a week to the Member Service Team. This role has provided me with valuable experiences, new skills, and practical insights into the impact Diabetes SA has on our community.

Working collaboratively within a supportive team, I have forged strong relationships and found great satisfaction in assisting with tasks such as collating resources, creating welcome packs, and supporting administrative duties. This volunteering experience has improved my confidence and mental health.

My motivation for volunteering comes from my love of being with people, feeling part of a team, and interacting with them. Knowing that my contributions are making a positive difference and giving me a sense of purpose brings me immense joy.
