At Diabetes SA, supporting people living with diabetes is at the heart of everything we do.

We are a not-for-profit, member-based organisation committed to reducing the risk and impact of diabetes across South Australia. For over 70 years, we’ve been standing beside individuals and families, providing trusted care, expert guidance, and vital support.

Diabetes is one of Australia’s most serious and costly chronic health conditions. Alarmingly, South Australia has the highest incidence in the country with 6.8% of our population living with diabetes. That’s why we lead a state-wide response to this growing health crisis working across all types of diabetes: type 1, type 2, gestational diabetes, and programs for people at risk.

From the moment of diagnosis, we’re here for you.

Whether it’s one-on-one consultations with our accredited dietitians, diabetes educators and exercise physiologist, professional advice online or over the phone, help monitoring blood glucose levels, or understanding possible complications – our support is comprehensive and personal.

We also offer:

  • Generously discounted diabetes products
  • Free access to library resources
  • Guest speaker events and community groups
  • Education face to face and online webinars
  • Consultations

Our work is made possible thanks to the generosity of our members, donors, and supporters. Together, we help fund essential education programs, awareness campaigns, and research that brings us closer to better management and even prevention of serious complications.

Above all, Diabetes SA is a place you can turn to for heart-felt, expert advice and genuine support.

You may be new to diabetes, but we’ve been here for generations, and we’re here for you.
