Background

Diabetes that is not well managed can lead to serious complications. Both type 1 and type 2 diabetes complications can be prevented or delayed.

Diabetes self-management education focuses on:

  • Therapeutic interventions that are integrated with the clinical care and attainment of clinical targets.
  • Equitable, access for people living with diabetes and provides individualised diabetes care.
