Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) covers membership fees
Since 1 July 2018, DVA committed to supporting eligible Diabetes SA DVA clients living with diabetes by paying their membership fees to Diabetes SA so that they can have the benefits of membership.
Diabetes SA has partnered with DVA to tailor a membership package specifically designed to benefit DVA Gold and White Card holders. This membership package will keep members up-to-date with the latest diabetes information, advice, research, news and events.
This health initiative supports veterans and other eligible DVA clients with diabetes, by providing education and support so they can better understand and manage their overall health and reduce their the number of visits and stays in hospital, and minimise the risk of further health complications.
Am I eligible and what will my Diabetes SA DVA membership cost me?
If you are a DVA Gold or White Health Card holder living with diabetes, DVA will cover the whole cost of your membership.
What does my Diabetes SA DVA membership package include?
DVA membership to Diabetes SA provides you with:
- My Life magazine delivered straight to your door in February, June and October.
- Diabetes SA member only education sessions, including supermarket tours and market tours where people living with diabetes can meet others in a supportive community.
- Member discounts and special offers
- A booklet developed specifically for DVA clients
Where will I find out about local workshops, education and expos in my area?

I’ve already paid my Diabetes SA membership?
If you have paid for your Diabetes SA membership and hold a DVA Gold or White Health Care card DVA will reimburse you. You should receive a letter soon from DVA about the reimbursement. However, if you have not received this letter by the end of January 2019 please contact DVA General Enquires on 1800 555 254
