Diabetes SA has always been committed to providing education programs and services, seminars, and events for our members. At a time when face-to-face sessions are not possible, we have continued our commitment by developing a series of LIVE webinars.

The webinars will be presented by our team of health professionals, and are designed to keep you up to date about diabetes management.

No matter where you are in South Australia, you can stay informed from the comfort of your home. If you are not a member yet, then now is a great time to join.

Diabetes Tune Up – Annual Cycle of Care

Aim of this session is to understand what is the annual cycle of care and using your annual cycle of care to manage your diabetes and to reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications.

Insulin for Type 2 Diabetes

Aim of this session is to increase knowledge of the use of insulin in type 2 diabetes, blood glucose levels and considerations for the safe use of insulin.

Insulin for Type 1 Diabetes

Aim of this session is to increase knowledge of the types of insulin available, methods of administration and possible side effects.

Basic Carbohydrate Counting

Aim of this session is to increase knowledge and understanding of carbohydrate foods and basic carbohydrate counting.

Supermarket Sleuths: What’s in a Label

Aim of this session is to be able to investigate food labels, what they mean and how you can use them to select healthy food products. Increase your confidence to manage your diabetes.

Highs and Lows: Avoiding the Roller-Coaster

Aim of this session is to classify what hypo and hyperglycaemia is, recognise the signs and symptoms and discuss how to manage it for optimal diabetes management.

Exercise & Diabetes

Aim of this session is to improve understanding of the benefits of exercise in diabetes management, increase your knowledge about the special considerations for people with diabetes when exercising, and empower you to plan your own exercise regime

Diabetes & Medications

Aim of this session is to increase knowledge and understanding of types of medications available to assist with diabetes management and how they work in the body.

Diabetes & Driving

Aim of this session is to provide education on your responsibilities regarding holding a drivers licence.

What you need to know

  • These webinars are FREE for Diabetes SA members and run for approximately 30 minutes with time to answer questions.
  • Each session is interactive, there will be time for you to ask questions by typing into the Q&A function of the presentation.
  • Even if you can't watch live, make sure you register so we can send you the webinar recording.
  • Registration closes the day prior at 4pm.
  • After you register, you will receive an email confirmation, and then closer to the event you will receive an email with the instructions for how to join the webinar.
