For over 68 years we have been at the frontline of diabetes support in South Australia.

Helping people living with diabetes and those at risk. Providing support services, empowering individuals with information and education, being the voice for any diabetes related issues and funding research.

Throughout our proud history our Board have provided the strategic leadership and governance to the Association whilst our CEO provides the leadership to evolve and grow the organisation.

With a strong sense of purpose, the Board of Diabetes SA and staff are committed to empowering people to live well with diabetes and raising awareness for those at risk. Our mission is to educate, advocate, support and fund research that provides better outcomes for people at risk or living with diabetes.

Due to a recent resignation of one of our Board Members, we are seeking a suitably qualified individual with demonstrated skills/experience in government/political relations and/or a background in business or business law. With diabetes knowing no boundaries the Board are keen to ensure representation from diverse backgrounds to ensure ongoing relevance to the community.

The successful candidate must be capable of adding value to Diabetes SA’s strategic plan and to the Board and be committed to attending monthly Board meetings during business hours and being part of Board committees. Candidates may be a member of the Association, be a parent or guardian of a person with diabetes under 18 years of age or be a guardian of an aged or incapacitated person with diabetes. The successful candidate will be required to be a financial member of the Association. The role of a Board Member is not remunerated.

The Board Member’s role is to advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with the leadership and general promotion and income generation of Diabetes SA to support the organisation’s mission and needs.
