Expression of Interest for a Board Mentored Role

For over 67 years Diabetes SA has been at the frontline of diabetes support in South Australia.

As a not for profit, charitable, member-based organisation that is managed by a voluntary Board, we are committed to empowering people to live well with diabetes and raising awareness for those at risk.

To ensure ongoing relevance in the community our Board is keen to encourage younger people from diverse cultural backgrounds to join the Board to share their views and lived experiences, and to raise matters that affect younger people living with or at risk of diabetes.

This is a wonderful learning and development opportunity for a person currently studying or in their early career to gain valuable insight and experience in the operations of the Board from both a governance and management perspective, to contribute and to share your perspectives on various issues as well as developing skills that are transferrable to your field of study or chosen profession.

The position is offered under section 81 of the Constitution and will be for a 2-year period.

Our Board meets nine times per year on a Tuesday evening for two hours and additional scheduled planning sessions and committees. The successful candidate will be required to attend all Board meetings, planning, and training sessions, engage, and contribute to Board discussion on issues and participate in the Board induction and mentoring program.

So, if you are currently studying or in your early career, have lived experience as a young person living with or at risk of diabetes, live in South Australia and are interested in contributing to our organisation in support of people living with or at risk of diabetes, we would like to hear from you.

Simply email or write to us, telling us about yourself, your background and why you think this opportunity would suit you. We will then arrange a time to meet with you to discuss this opportunity further.
