Marketing & Communications Officer
Jana is the Marketing & Communications Officer Diabetes SA and she provides marketing and communication support to the Health Services, Fundraising, Membership, Retail and Customer Services Teams. This involves content creation and campaign planning, managing social media channels, creating publications and newsletters, helping with fundraising campaigns, and updating website content.
Jana completed Introduction to Communication Science from University of Amsterdam (Communication and Media Studies), Social Change: How Can Marketing Help? from Griffith University, and English as a Second Language (FCE, ESOL I. II. Certificates) from University of Cambridge. Shortly after finishing her Matriculation Examination in Business Administration (Economy, Czech, English and Accountancy), Jana worked in various marketing roles, contributing to marketing and strategy projects, and in market research as a Data Entry Executive / Proofreader. After relocating from London to Adelaide, Jana volunteered for a local community club, helped create content for a community TV channel, all while freelancing and managing social media channels and online communications for her clients. Passionate about community and digital media, Jana says that working for Diabetes SA as an Online Communication Officer has been full of eye-opening moments, especially when raising awareness about the different types of diabetes. Sharing members stories and experiences, Jana learnt that: “Diabetes doesn’t define who you are” and “Knowledge IS power”.
Jana spends most evenings studying short online courses and monitoring trends in marketing, health promotion, strategic thinking, innovation and social change.
