About the NDSS

The National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) is an initiative of the Australian Government administered by Diabetes Australia.


The NDSS provides blood and urine testing strips, syringes, needles for insulin pens and insulin pump consumables at subsidised prices to people with diabetes.

Diabetes Australia has administered the NDSS for the Commonwealth since 1987.

Once registered, you may receive your items by one of the following ways:

Aim

The NDSS aims to enhance the capacity of people with diabetes to understand and manage their life with diabetes and to ensure they have timely, reliable and affordable access to the products and services they require to effectively self-manage their condition.


Who is eligible to register?

The Scheme is available to all Australian residents who hold a Medicare card and who have been diagnosed with diabetes by a health professional.
 
Visitors to Australia may also be eligable to access the NDSS through a recipricol agreement with their home country.
